SoCalVaHomes.Org started working with Brian and Lisa Doudera back in May of 2012. The goal was to find their dream home in Imperial Beach San Diego. Imperial Beach is a small beach community and is the southern most town in San Diego, and it is where the Douderas currently live. They are renters and contacted us to help them get the home of their dreams. We faced some real challenges when trying to find their perfect home, because the city of Imperial Beach at any time only has 18-25 single family homes active and on the market. Contrary to popular belief, there isn’t a large volume of foreclosures just sitting out there any more, it is a highly competitive market throughout all Southern California, making it difficult to get the right property.
We scoured property daily, making offers whenever a new home would come on the market until we were able to find the perfect home for the Douderas that we got an offer accepted on. The property had the important features that they wanted, but definitely not everything. We walked through the home and created a detailed vision of exactly what they wanted, created a budget and made sure that the we thought the renovated home would appraise at with all the new amenities. We were able to complete the Doudera’s wish list and they were thrilled when they saw the finished product.
