Every Wednesday at 6 pm, the Patriot Gaurd meet at the Old Town Orange Circle to lower the flag. SoCalVAHomes.org’s team attends the first Wednesday flag-lowering service each month, where they perform a special honorary service the active servicemen and women who fell in the line of duty during the previous month. Respects are paid and the flag lowering draws a large crowd of veterans from all of the wars and conflicts going back to as far as World War II.
Taps is played live as the flag ceremony takes place and the whole event draws a lot of attention to helping our active and retired and the needs of the veteran community. If you’re in the area stop by and show support for our current servicemen and women as well as those who served. The people are friendly and the old town orange is a great place! The M.C. is Mark Wayland, who is a Vietnam Vet and member of the Patriot Gaurd, you can see more about Mark and the event HERE.
